Hyogo Prefecture is located in the Kansai region with Kobe as its capital. Hyogo is home to one of Japan’s famous castle which is the Himeji Castle. The seventh most populated prefecture has quite a number of great attractions that are worth a visit namely, Awaji Island, Takeda Castle, Taiyo Park and a lot more.

Pars Cuisine is situated above Mamounia Café, Kobe and this is a Halal certified restaurant. The interior is decorated with Persian-themed furniture as seen throughout the entire floor. Besides that, Pars Cuisine also offers a hookah (water tobacco) zone to let you experience the exotic side of the Persians.

This restaurant serves basic Middles Eastern dishes such as kebab, falafel, samosa, rice and vegetarian food. However, you need to try some of the unique foods like Khorake Bademjan (Stir-fried spicy sauce with taro, gyoza and shrimp), Borani (Appetizers made from yoghurt and spinach), Fesenjan (Iranian stew cooked with pomegranate paste and walnut) and Khoresht Esfenaj (Plum spinach stew).

Gaylord Indian Restaurant is one of the most successful Indian restaurants in the world. They have multiple branches across the globe such as in Hong Kong, Australia, London and others. Situated in Kobe, this Indian restaurant has been operating since 1973. With over 30 distinctive types of spices and seasonings, it’s a no surprise why people keep on coming back to this restaurant.

Furthermore, if this is your first time eating Indian dishes, try Gaylord’s signature food such as charcoal-grilled tandoori chicken, masala curry and naan. The restaurant claimed that most of the food dawned from North of India, hence, why the taste is very thick and full of flavours.

Ali’s Halal Chicken earned Michelin Award’s in 2017 and 2018 as the No. 1 Pakistani and Arabic Restaurant in Japan. Their unique and genuine taste of both Pakistani and Arabian has certainly proved how great this restaurant is. Moreover, Ali’s has several restaurants in Japan which you can find in Osaka as well as in Hyogo.

The Pakistani restaurant provides meals such as Fattoush (a Lebanese salad made from several vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes and more), shrimp tandoori, Arabian Kabsa, Briyani rice (comes with either lamb, chicken or beef) and others. Ali’s Halal Kitchen is also Halal certified.

Tsuki Usagi

Kobe is known for its magnificent tender wagyu beef and there is only one place to taste Halal Kobe beef. Tsuki Usagi prepares Halal Kobe beef using cooking utensils that are strictly used for cooking Halal dishes including the seasonings. Also, the restaurant received its Halal certificate from Islamic Center Japan (TOKYO) and ESMA of UAE. In short, Muslims don’t need to worry about a single thing when dining in Tsuki Usagi.

This restaurant has three main Kobe beef dishes which are steak, Sukiyaki and Hoba Yaki. In order to dine at this place, you are required to book an advance reservation at least a day before because they need to prepare Halal ingredients as well as the beef.

Modernark Pharm Café

Modernark Pharm Café is not exactly a Halal restaurant, but it serves mainly vegetarian meals that include only organic products.

This wooden and green café is located very near to Pars Cuisine and there are plenty of selections to choose from for both lunch and dinner. If you are a vegan, you can ask the cook to adjust your meals to a vegan-friendly. Some of the foods you should try are their vegetarian set comprising brown rice, salad, miso soup, radish honey lemon and Chinese cabbages. There is also a burrito, curry with brown rice and a few delicious desserts such as Coconut Tiramisu Cake, Pumpkin Cheesecake and more vegetarian cakes.

MURAT

A Turkish restaurant situated on the eighth floor of a building on the right side of Higashimon Gate. You will certainly spot the ‘MURAT Restaurant’ signboard planted outside the building. Owned by a Muslim chef, Murat, he cooked Turkish meals to suit the Japanese tongue. Among the dishes you opt to try is Lahmajoun (Turkish pizza) and Köfte (meatballs made with garlic, lamb and herbs). Then, wash down the taste by ordering Turkish Tea (black tea).

Omotenashi DINING Fukutei

Omotenashi DINING Fukutei is a Japanese restaurant that uses fresh fish for most of their meals. Anago (saltwater eel) is Fukutei’s most popular dish. They use anago to make tempura, sushi, Kabayaki (grilled eel), Anago-don (Chopped eel on top of rice, seaweed and wasabi) and Ni-anago simmered eel in sweet sauce.

Because their anago is very favourable among customers, Fukutei decided to start serving Halal dishes so Muslims can also taste anago. The restaurant is not Halal certified, thus, to prepare the meals, the chef will use Halal seasonings that are checked thoroughly before putting into the food and will be cooked using disposable kitchenware.
