Hanamaza Pan

This little restaurant cum bakery shop is owned by an Indonesian Muslim woman. This shop not only famous among the Muslims but also the Japanese because of their delicious and cheap bread ranging from ¥200 to ¥800. Made using only Halal ingredients, Muslim travellers won’t have to hesitate when buying their bread.

Besides that, they also have a buffet for lunchtime and not only bread, but main dishes like spaghetti and hot dogs will be served to fill your hunger. If you live somewhere near Hokkaido or Kyushu, Hanamaza Pan provides a delivery service to these areas. The bread will not get stale because it can be stored up to 20 days.

THANYAPORN Thai Restaurant & Guest House

Thai cuisine in Gifu? THANYAPORN Thai Restaurant ran its business since 2015 and they were featured as one of the top Thai restaurants all over Japan in TripAdvisor. The authentic flavour of Thai cuisine has definitely captivated the hearts of not only the Thais and Muslims but also the Japanese.

Their signature dishes are Tom Yam Kung, Pad Thai and Green Curry. Even though this is a Thai restaurant, they are able to provide Halal meals to Muslims. Just let them know earlier, so they can prepare the ingredients.

Apart from the restaurant, this place is also a guest house. Some of the rooms can accommodate up to eight to ten people and you can choose whether to stay in Japanese or Western-styled rooms. The price for each person is approximately ¥3,500-¥5,000. They also offer private tours to places like Shirakawago in which you can book at their Facebook.

Hida Takayama Ekimaeken

This ramen restaurant is not Halal certified, but, they serve Halal meats and vegetarian meals. Hida Takayama Ekimaeken is a two-story restaurant that comes with a prayer room for Muslim customers.

A lot of Muslim eats here because their ramen is really good. For Muslims, you can choose the Takayama Ramen or Hida Miso Ramen as these two don’t include any pork or alcohols.

Restaurant Alice

Famous for their Western cuisine and Hida beef, make Restaurant Alice as one of your pit-stops. Situated in Takayama, Alice also provides Halal Sukiyaki using Halal chicken slice. For Muslims, you need to make a reservation three days before so they will have time to prepare you the Halal dishes.

Japanese Sweets Artist Shinya

Apart from Daifuku Ice-cream, there is another sweet sensation called Fruit Daifuku Ice-cream. Yes, in the Old Town of Takayama City, a shop called Japanese Sweets Artist Shinya created these sweet snacks using fresh fruits like strawberries, kiwis, pineapples and chestnuts. They will cut the fruits into small chunks and wrap them inside a small round-shaped cake. The taste? Delicious!

Other than these regular Fruit Daifuku Ice-creams, they also sell Mega Ichigo where they stuff lots of strawberries and also, try the charcoal strawberry daifuku too. You can also get cakes, juices and fruit cakes that are suitable for gifts as recommended by the store.

Suzuya Restaurant

This traditional-styled restaurant provides Japanese main dishes like Shabu-shabu, Sukiyaki, Sansai Teisyoku and more for their Muslim customers. They use chickens for most of the meals because it is much easier to attain. Other than that, Suzuya Restaurant can host up to a group of 20 in their rustic Japanese tatami room.
